S-P-E-L-L-I-N-G B-E-E

Today, Kaige participated in the 1st-3rd grade School Spelling Bee! Kaige waiting for the spelling bee to start. He is such a cute kid. According to my Sister, he cleans up really well! (no bball shorts and celtics green) He had to wear church clothes and he was more worried about what people would say about his clothes than he was about the words. I had to take him because he couldn't ride the bus, kids might see his church clothes and then he wouldn't get out of the car until the bell rang - so he could go right to class and no kids would see him on the playground!
Kaige and his friend Grant waiting for the spelling bee to start. They both are so funny and cute and did such a great job!

Kaige spelling his 1st word - "CHUCKLE". He did so great. He spoke so loud and clear and it even made his mom cry. For those that know Kaige well, this is a big accomplishment for him. He hates to stand out so people notice him. He also doesn't like to talk in front of people, so to stand in front of a microphone and talk is a really big deal!
He was so excited about getting past the 1st round. This was taken after he sat back down!
Spelling his 2nd round word - "Volley". He forgot the "e". I was so proud of him for not being upset. He just smiled and walked away and said to me, " There was an E, huh?"

I am so proud of Kaige. He is such a cute boy and so smart. A few years ago, I never would have thought that he would stand up in front of a group and spell a word. He has come so far! Way to Go Kaigey Bear! (He did go change into his basketball pants and tshirt right after this!)
